Priest Valerijus Rudzinskas – founder of the Full house community.
Full House community has been established in Panara village, district of Varena inside the Lithuanian National park of Dzukija region, where its activities is a multilayered combination of social, economical practices which are oriented towards environmental protection and innovative activity.
Full House community provides free of charge consultation and social rehabilitation services for addict persons (alcohol and drugs) and other socially excluded people and their families. The community specialist team tries to solve social outcast and integration into society problems.
Full House community in 2005 has founded a medicinal and spices herb farm in the territory of Dzukija national park, choosing a location oriented for herb range, growing technologies and cultivation tools. Such farming practice has become friendly in saving biodiversity. Partnership with Vilnius botanical institute, Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University botanical garden, Dzukijos national park and Varena region farmers helped to achieve the goals.
The idea of protecting the ecosystem made us create not only the ecological herb farm but also build a herb dessicator which has a 140 sq m solar panel. This idea broadened the understanding of using the solar energy not only for water heating but to also using of it for drying the farm produce by heating the air flow. Drying the herbs by the usual method about 50-70 percent of all costs makes up preparing the hot air (cost of fuel or electricity), while these constant costs can be significantly lowered by using the solar energy.
The priest Valerijus Rudzinskas, the founder of the community, loves flowers and various plants very much. During the summer time he places a lot of attention on the plants in the community area, who are delighted not only by the people who lives in the community but also by the incoming guests. There are no flowering plants in Lithuania during the winter that prompted Valerijus Rudzinskas to be interested in aromatherapy and its benefits to human. In 2014, the first aroma therapy blends of essential oils were created. Shortly the first niche fragrances have also been featured with the brand name Vallery / VR . All the income from sales of VR line products are used fort the community’s mission.
The community invested into main and natural resources – renewable source energy, biological diversity and ecosystem functions, harmonious agriculture farm, human resources and creation of ecological work spaces. It secured a functional and harmonious community growth and allowed a big advancement in environmental protection and social areas.
